Message from Chairperson TTB Punjab

Shahryar Ahmad Khan

Gone is the era when skills were overlooked and degrees were given utmost importance. Recently the demand for skill workers has increased dramatically in both private and public sectors.

We are facing a variety of challenges in skills development to provide globally competitive workforce. TVET reforms are being introduced, with technical assistance of GIZ, to improve quality of skills training and its accessibility.   NVQF has been introduced under TVET Reforms Support Program to provide vertical & horizontal mobility of learners and different pathways to earn qualifications. We have improved, expanded and diversified technical and vocational training. The situation today is certainly far better than one prevailing in earlier period of our history.

Private sector is considered to be instrumental for promotion and delivery of quality training all over the world. We expect enhanced employer’s participation in training and assessment process to make TVET system responsive to job market and globally competitive.

Assessment is a critical step in the learning process. It determines the level of competencies of learner against defined standards. We stand committed to provide valid, reliable, flexible and fair assessment services that meet the needs of clients. Our assessment process includes the full range of activities that measure candidate’s skills, knowledge and attitude against nationally defined competency standards.
